A chance for children ages 0-4 and their moms, dads, nannies and caregivers to come together to have fun, explore the city and support one another in community. The group is an outreach of Urban Village Church. We are a bold, relevant and inclusive Christian community fro everyone including those that have been burned or bored by religion and need to do church differently.
We are explorers of urban Chicago. We check out neighborhoods, restaurants, parks, historical sites and other notable Chicagoland locations. These are places you might not otherwise travel alone. The convenience of group activities lends itself to lots of new opportunities and friendships. We must be on to something, because people keep coming back.
LIVE CHAT too! Have you lived here for a while but never had the chance to get out and see the things and places in Chicago that visitors from other cities have seen? New in town and want an excuse to check some "must-see" things off the list? Just looking for something fun to do but didn't really want to do it all by yourself? Be a tourist in our own city! I had always spent the time to check out other city's offerings when I traveled on business or for pleasure, and about 10 years ago, th …

… The general format for this meetup will involve Chicago neighborhood explorations ending in area pub or coffeehouse dialogues. What is landscape architecture? This answer depends on how narrow the view. If you prefer clear, concrete, black and white definitions: then the field of landscape architecture will drive you crazy for at its core landscape architecture is an open, expanding field. Its primary artistic material of living organisms and shifting systems travels in flux. There are always …
This group is for Chicago ladies, married/relationships or single, in their 40s who are looking to expand their circle of city friends and enjoy Chicago city living at the same time. Vogue magazine writes:"You could say that your 40s are an age when you pivot--into an acknowledgment that you are no longer exactly young, into some sort of idea of the rest of your life" (August 2011, in an article written about Sarah Jessica Parker). This feels like an appropriate introduction for this group. More …
Welcome to Healthy Chicago Group. We are a walking group that have 3.5-5 miles (on average) walks through different neighborhoods in Chicago's Northside and vicinity on a weekly basis. We walk at a pace of about 3-4 mph (fast) for exercise and fun. We are not a sight-seeing group, however during these walks, you will see some interesting houses, new restaurants, Chicago parks, and other businesses that may appeal to you. Some things you should know about us: We walk fast! We always end walks w …
Frustrated by "greener-than-thou" side-issues or meaningless environmental gestures? Me too; and there are a lot of us who feel the same way. In a world where the next set of utility bills is already heading our way, we need real actions and real solutions that are within our reach today ... not at some nebulous point in the future. GreenGoals is all about those real world actions and solutions; from available green technology to "coming attractions" and ongoing local policy-making, together we …
… Many of our volunteer-based meetups will focus on helping the Urban Art Retreat in North Lawndale (off the pink line) at first. For those unable to head out that way, we'll also offer some other opportunities to meet in different areas of Chicago. In addition to volunteer-based meetups, we're planning to have some social events, too. Want to check out a museum exhibit, check out a festival, or have a BBQ potluck when the weather gets a little warmer? The possibilities are endless! There's real …

In 1958, a group of women, all related to architects, formed the Women's Architectural League to promote awareness and appreciation of Chicago architecture. Over the years membership has broadened to include women in the design professions and others interested in architecture. WALF members organize tours designed to deepen appreciation for both historic and contemporary Chicago architecture. Tours frequently feature buildings under construction or recently completed, led by architects involved …
I think this City needs a group dedicated to contemporary, progressive fifty and over folks who are relevant and always ready to enjoy all that Chicago has to offer. Music, plays, parks, festivals, restaurants, community action, exploratory walks are just a few ideas. We are too young to stop experiencing life and too experienced to be shut out!
Inspired by the crazy group on How I Met Your Mother... We’re a fun, rowdy bunch… Think... that big, random group of crazy friends in college that always had the best stories. We're 25-40 mostly, men & women, gay, straight, single, coupled… as long as you can hold your own at a Karaoke bar, tell a good dirty joke or pull the crazy answer to that final trivia question out of your a**, you’ll fit right in. I have a feeling you'll enjoy Bros & Chicks if... You find the only word in the Urban Dict …
… And in an urban/suburban area like ours, places of pure solitude are few and far between. But we are blessed with one resource, water! There are lots of rivers, lakes, large and small, and other bodies of water nearby such as Lake Michigan, the Fox River, the Des Plaines River, the Chicago River, and many others, just waiting to be explored. WE can paddle in urban, suburban and rural areas and enjoy what each has to offer. Besides, adventure is much more about what you do then where you go. If y …
